About

Nice to meet you! Please call me C. I am a broad-spectrum entoperson, but my scientific interests extensively involve vibrational communication systems in the genus Coniontis (though nowadays I'm too depressed and un-affluent to care for tenebrionid research much, admittedly). My other interests include (but are not limited to) ecology/cultivation of Marchantiophyta (primarily Asterella californica at the moment) and lichenized Ascomycota.

I regularly work with understudied and visually unassuming taxa (of which Coniontis is one); more often than not, they are filled with fascinating secrets hiding in plain sight.

I consider myself a person of the arts first and foremost, despite my primarily scientific background. Like many other science enthusiasts, I've always been fascinated by the sublimeness of the natural world. Through this blog I hope to celebrate the nonvertebrates of the world through photography and prose.

Thanks for visiting! I hope you enjoy your stay.
